Not too shabby, considering the budget and his resources.
Has anyone done anything like this yet with the 3-cylinder ecoboost? I'd think it would be a perfect little engine for a small, light weight single seater.

As would I. It's almost tempting to build one myself. It'd be one heck of a project. I asked Ford Canada if they offer the 1.0 3-cylinder ecoboost as a crate motor. They said they currently don't, but to figure out how to get my hands on one I should go to a dealership and talk to the folks there. Preferably they'd sell it without the rest of the Fiesta attached to it.
